Thriving as a New Mum

A 10-week course for new mums to understand the changes that take place and learn the tools and strategies to manage the intense experience of a newborn (0-9 mths).

“This is an absolutely amazing course. Tracey is a caring and heartfelt facilitator. I cried and laughed with other like-minded women as we shared our journeys as new mothers.”

“Each week was like being wrapped in a warm blanket of love. It was the perfect empathy tonic during my first weeks of parenthood. I appreciated that all voices were heard and respected.”

What You’ll Learn…

1. Parenting In This Era
Why is parenting in this era so hard? Our world is full of advice, noise and distraction which only slows down our development and confidence as a new parents. It puts us in a different part of our brain. Tracey challenges us to stay off Google for the week, and just spend time staring at your baby. See what you notice. Attuning to your baby’s needs requires time, presence and trust in yourselves to work it out.

2. Self-Discovery & Self-Identity
Who am I now? New parents often talk about a loss of self. Tracey challenges us to recognise that it isn’t a loss of self – it is the loss of a former life. It is actually an expansion of self, as you discover new ways of being in a very different world of parenthood. It is an upgrade to your system – but there will always be days you feel the loss of the way things used to be. She will also give you a powerful metaphor to alter your mindset – and your experience.

3. Dealing With The Changing Nature of Relationships
Tracey will share some skills to help you have hard conversations. Many relationships change after the arrival of a new baby. It is fertile ground for relationships to mature, but in order for this to happen, we need to upgrade our skills to have conversations – and renegotiate terms.

4. Feeding & Expressing Love In These New Circumstances
We will learn the five love languages and how to work on keeping your love tank full. This is one of the most powerful sessions in keeping relationships healthy and building the capacity to better understand each other, and be responsible for your own love tank.

5. The Artful Work of Intuitive Parenting
We will discuss the difference between instinct and intuition. Tracey also shows us how to cultivate more intuition as a parent, which is the capacity to know what your children need and to attune to what they are really communicating.

6. Work/Life/Self Contentment
Tracey provides a model to help us become more clear and conscious of our priorities. This leads to a greater sense of contentment and less pressure to try to do everything. We then also explore the transition of going back to work, or staying at home – and how to make it work for the family.

7. Let’s Talk About Sex
Tracey talks about how birth influences your sex life and how to find your way back to enjoying your body again.

8. Transforming From Your Birth
We share what our birth experiences have taught us about ourselves and link it to how birth prepares us for parenting. A rich discussion to help us put a new lens over our birth and see the value of mother nature’s blueprint.

9. Creating Your Family Rituals
We reflect on what rituals we experienced as a child, and what you would like to bring in to your own family. This session helps us to get clearer on what our family values are – and how to build lasting memories in the hearts of our children.

10. Creating Community

Our final week involves a celebration of our gatherings, and reflecting on our experience of learning and change. Tracey then challenges us to build our community, as parenting is not a job to be done on our own.

“As a second time mum, there’s not many activities I would do twice. But signing up to Tracey’s 10 week Thriving as a New Mum course for a second time, with my daughter, was an inspired decision that I’ll never regret. Tracey has devised a 10-topic program expertly to guide you comprehensively through issues you’ll naturally want to and need to discuss as a new mum. Tracey provides a safe and nurturing space for mums to be vulnerable, to share their highs and lows, joys and fears, trials and triumphs with other mums. Tracey’s warmth, kindness and wisdom helps nourish this community each week, drawing out mums who want to speak at length whilst respectful of those who need to pass and observe the journey of others. Many of the new mums I met in Tracey’s course with my first child, and I can see likely with my second child, have become my closest and potentially most enduring friendships. I couldn’t recommend Tracey’s course high enough. It has been the highlight of both my maternity leave periods. Don’t hesitate, grab a spot. You’ll love it.” – Natalie

Thank you so much for creating thrive – it’s hard to put into words what it’s meant for me but I’ve tried as best I can! Happy for you to use parents or to take things out if needed. Thriving as a new mum has absolutely changed the course of my parenting journey. I am so much more confident in my intuition and abilities and am finding joy in each day with my daughter. Each week, coming to Thrive felt like a warm hug due to the sense of community Tracey creates. The content is so relevant to the transition to motherhood and I have appreciated the opportunity to think more deeply and share my own vulnerabilities, in a safe and supportive environment.
