The course with Tracey and the things I learnt during it played a huge part in the birth.

I was overdue by 14 days so I spent 4 days in the Young Hospital with the doctors trying to induce me using a gel on my cervix – It was horrible! The gel wasn’t working and it was a really uncomfortable few days with internal examinations morning and night. After using the maximum amount of gel they could it was decided that they would send me home for the weekend and I was to come back Monday morning for a C-Section. Well, Jack must of gotten wind of this from the Womb because Sunday morning he decided he was ready to grace us with his presence. I went to the hospital for monitoring on the Baby Trace machine (which I had to do morning and night for a week) and discovered that I was actually in Labour, with no pain & I was 3 cm dilated! From then everything happened extremely quickly, my contractions kicked off, with no space between them – Within an hour I was fully dilated and ready to push, only 45 minutes from then Jack was brought into the world.

It was the most amazing experience of my life – The doctors & midwives at the Young Hospital were shocked that a birth could be so calm! I was virtually silent through the whole thing, focusing on my breathing and remaining calm, cool & collected. I can’t say that you can put me in the group of women that have a ‘pain free’ or ‘orgasmic’ labour – I definitely had pain although I will say it was manageable! I think my calmness has rubbed off on little Jack – Once he was delivered, they put him on my chest, he opened his eyes to say hello to his mummy then proceeded to fall asleep and snore for 30 minutes! At only two weeks old he is a very quiet soul, only feeding every 6 hours and a very content little man in between! Being a mum is the most rewarding thing I have done in my entire life – I don’t know why I didn’t do it sooner! I just want to say thank you so much for the knowledge you passed on over the course – I cannot recommend this course enough to my friends, I certainly know what I’ll be giving as baby shower gifts from now on! I have attached two photos of Jack – these were both taken within 2 hours of his arrival. I could send you a million more photos, he changes so much with every day that passes. Thanks again Tracey, Our journey certainly wouldn’t have been the same without meeting you. Lots of Love, Jess & Jack xoxo
