Dee shares her story of two births. After her first experience, she decides on a homebirth, and her goal is to have a vaginal birth after caesarean (VBAC). She prepares by completing the ‘Transform Your Birth’ course, and accesses many resources to support her belief in herself, even in the face of other people’s opinions about what she should be doing. She develops a wonderful relationship with her homebirth midwife and this proves to be very important to her experience. Ultimately she ends up transitioning to hospital where she is met with alternative viewpoints and conflicting information. Decision-making in these circumstances can be very tricky – and we discuss how Dee was able to follow her own guidance with the support of her homebirth midwife. A story with lots to teach us.
